Feasibility Study

In the first phase, from 1-15 June 2014, MedAlb Institut realized a fast feasibility study related, in one part, to collect data and to do analyzes about plant production and climatic and soil conditions of four communes included in the project Novosela, Shushica, Otllak and Bucimas and, in other part, to collect data and to do analyzes about Roma and Egyptian communities there, related to their population, culture and tradition, gender relations, employment in agriculture, agricultural land ownership, land cultivation, medicinal plants cultivation and collection, farm management etc. Also through this study we identified best farmers experiences in each commune on sage cultivation.

Beneficiary Selection

During the period of time from 16 March to 30 April 2014 MedAlb Institut in collaboration with its local partner organization “Farmers Association of Shkreli” and representatives of four Communes, selected 35 families in vengeance in Malesia e Madhe which will be involved in this project.

In the same time we distributed sage seedlings planned for an average surface of 2,5 dy or 0,25 ha per family and 4000 seedlings/dy or in a total surface of agricultural land of 10 ha and 400,000 sage seedlings for all families included.

Also we have supported continuously with technical consultancy women and girls farmers of these families involved in the project.
