Equipment distribution

During the period of time June- September 2015 we have realized the contracts with organic farmers which are beneficiaries of the solar insect killer equipment for their farms, with Director and Researchers of Lushnja Center for Agriculture Technology Transfer and with Faculty of Agriculture of Agricultural University of Tirana. Also during this period of time we have realized some TV interviews and scientific applications and publications about Solar Energy Use for Plant Insect Killer in Albania.

Training Courses

During the period August- September 2015 MedAlb Institut has realized two training courses with organic farmers, experts of agriculture and environment, representatives from agricultural institutions and Agricultural Universities in Tirana about the innovative and sustainable method of using of solar energy for plant pest control and the advantages of this method compare with other methods used until now in agriculture.

Meetings

During June 2015 MedAlb Institut planed and realized some contacts and meetings with organic farmers, experts of agriculture and organic farming, representatives of Albanian Institute of Organic Agriculture – Durres, Representatives of Agricultural University of Tirana and Korca, Representatives of Agricultural Technology Transfer Centers in Lushnje, Korca, Fush-Kruja, Vlora and Shkodra. In these meetings we discusses and explained the method of using of solar energy for plant pest control and the advantages of this method compare with other methods used until now in agriculture. Also MedAlb Institut has selected and has signed contracts with experts and trainers for realizing training curses with them for improving their knowledge on solar energy use in agriculture and environment.

Continuous support

Later on we continued our support in material form giving sage seedlings to more than 40 families which were planted on 8 acres of land.  With the continuous support of UNDP Albania, we have continued our training courses until June 15th, 2015 and have provided harvesting and drying equipment. Some of the families also received tillage machines as compensation for the plants destroyed by floods.
